Student Application

We will begin accepting application for the 2015 session on March 1, 2015! Instruments are assigned on a first come, first serve basis.

Thank you for applying to Girls Rock Milwaukee!

Girls Rock Milwaukee is open to girls that will be aged 8-16 during our camp session in 2015. Camp will be held Monday, July 27 through Friday, July 31, 2014 with a Showcase on Sunday, August 2nd. Camp runs from 9am to 5pm each day. Campers must be able to attend the entire week of camp as well as the Showcase. Campers may be dropped off as early as 8am and may stay as late as 6pm.

Camp will be held at University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, Helene Zelazo Center of the Performing Arts, 2419 E Kenwood Blvd, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The Sunday showcase will be at 2:00pm at Turner Hall Ballroom, Milwaukee, WI.  Campers will need to arrive at 11:30am for sound check.  (Parents and guests are not allowed in the Ballroom until the show begins at 2pm!)

No musical experience is required! You do not have to bring your own instrument – although you are welcome to do so – the camp will provide instruments and equipment during the week. In this application, campers must pick 2 different instruments they would like to play in their band. The instruments we will have available this year are bass, drums, guitar, keyboards or vocals. If your student is interested in playing another instrument of their own at camp please make a note to us in your cover letter!

We do our best to accommodate all campers with what they would like to play at camp while making sure we have a balance of vocals and instruments in each band.

The application process has two steps:
1. Complete the program application online
2. Submit a creative sample prepared by the camper explaining why they would like to attend camp. All creative samples must include a cover letter explaining why the camper would like to attend Girls Rock Milwaukee.

Enrollment fees do not need to be paid until the campers have been accepted to camp.

Applicants are accepted and instruments are assigned on a first come first serve basis. Applications are not considered complete until the creative samples are submitted. Creative samples are due within two weeks of receiving the on-line application in order to keep your position. After the two weeks, you still can be accepted to camp, but we cannot guarantee that there will be the same instrument options or that you will not be on the waiting list.

You will receive and email confirmation once your online application has been submitted and once again when your creative piece has been submitted. We will notify you of receiving your complete application of acceptance to the camp and which instrument you will be assigned.

Once accepted to the camp, the $200 enrollment fee must be paid to hold the student’s place. We do have financial aid available for campers through the Treblemakers Fund.  If your camper needs tuition assistance, please email us at to request a scholarship or a partial scholarship for your camper.

Creative samples & cover letters (that are not submitted online) and checks for the enrollment fee should be mailed to Girls Rock MKE, 2643 S Kinnickinnick Ave, Milwaukee, WI  53207.

If you cannot complete this application online send us an email at and we will send one to you through the mail.
